Commencement Ceremony Venue Update

Dear Class of 2026,

First, I want to commend your class officers and those who shared the desire for an outdoor graduation ceremony. Your passion for making this milestone event memorable is a testament to the school spirit you’ve shown throughout your time in this district.

After a thorough review of the logistics, including seating capacity, unpredictable weather patterns, the timeframe for making this change practical, and the technical requirements for a high-quality broadcast- we have decided to move forward with our traditional indoor ceremony.

While I know this may be disappointing to those of you who were hoping for an open-air event, our priority remains ensuring a comfortable, climate-controlled, and guaranteed environment for every graduate and their guests.  Knowing that your graduation is an event that many of you have been looking forward to your entire high school careers as a celebration of your accomplishments with your family and friends, I am not confident that we will be able to meet your expectations with a change in venue this close to the ceremony.

Though the ceremony will remain inside, we have discussed with your senior class officers the possibility of setting up additional areas or stations outside that could be used by you and your families to capture the energy and aesthetics of an outdoor celebration.

Additional information will continue to be provided by our high school administrators and graduation planning team to help you and your families prepare for the festivities on May 29th.  I look forward to seeing you celebrate all you’ve accomplished throughout your time in our school district, as well as the excitement in knowing you are ready for whatever pathways you will be traveling in your future.

Sincerely,

Michael Snopkowski
Superintendent
