ATTENTION, CURRENT 10TH AND 11TH GRADE STUDENTS! Interested in exploring career and technical education opportunities? CTC Tour sign-ups begin Wednesday, September 16th in the Guidance Office. The sign-up deadline is Wednesday, September 30th, space is limited, so sign up early! To register, students must have their Annual Parent Portal updated in PowerSchool. The tours are Tuesday, November 3rd. Stop by the Guidance Office with any questions and to sign up!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

CTC Picture Day – September 9
CTC students, please be reminded that Picture Day is September 9.

Full Day and AM CTC students: Please report to the Community Hall for pictures before getting on the CTC bus first thing in the morning.

Buses will be held to allow students time to take their pictures.  

CTC buses will pull up in front of the school.
After your pictures are taken, please board your CTC bus outside of the Auditorium.

Important Reminder for Seniors

Graduation Project – Service-Learning Requirement

All seniors are required to complete the Service-Learning requirement for their Graduation Project.

Service-Learning Verification Forms must be submitted to Mrs. Laudermilch in the Guidance Office by November 24.

Please make sure your completed form is submitted by the deadline.

 

 

Homecoming Ticket sales: Tickets can be purchased with Ms. Zook in the Main office from September 21- September 30. Tickets are $10 each or $15 at the door.

Guest forms must be completed and turned into Ms. Zook by September 29 in order to purchase a guest ticket. Guests are not permitted to buy tickets at the door. 

 

Communication for CTC Students

Communication is extremely important to us, especially since CTC students are not in the building for part of the day. We understand this can make staying informed more challenging, particularly for students who drive to CTC. To ensure students do not miss important events or announcements, information is shared in several ways.

 

How Students Should Stay Informed -

 

Students should regularly:

  • Check the GSHS bulletin board at CTC

  • Visit the school website frequently

  • Monitor StudentSquare

  • Check their ELANCO school email

 

Apps for Important Information

  • CTC Learners should download the StudentSquare app to receive important announcements.
  • Parents and guardians will receive updates through the ParentSquare app.

 

Full-Day CTC Students
Please bring your CTC-issued laptop to the Garden Spot Technology Department as soon as possible so it can be connected to the district network. This is necessary for transcript requests and school communications.

 

Garden Spot Early Dismissal Information

On district-wide early dismissal days: 

  • Full-Day CTC students will attend morning classes only.
  • Students who drive may remain at CTC for the day.
  • AM CTC students will attend CTC as usual.
  • PM CTC students will not attend CTC. 

 

PM CTC students are scheduled to attend only Blocks 1 and 2 at Garden Spot. On early dismissal days, these students are dismissed after Block 2 at 9:00 a.m.  If your student does not have transportation available to leave Garden Spot at that time, please complete this form and return it to the guidance office, indicating that they will remain on campus. Students who stay will be assigned a supervised location in the building until the regular dismissal time.

Important Dates to Remember

  • Financial Aid Night: October 21 at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Hall at Garden Spot High School.
  • FAFSA Completion Night: January 7 at Garden Spot High School. Please contact Tanya Laudermilch at 717-354-1571 to schedule an appointment.  Registration will not begin until after Financial Aid Night on 10/21/26.

 

 

Wednesday, September 30 – CTC will be closed. Garden Spot High School will remain open; however, the school will follow an Early Dismissal Schedule due to the Challenge of the Classes event being held at Garden Spot that day.

CTC Student Schedule for Wednesday, September 30

• Garden Spot High School: Open for classes and operating on an Early Dismissal Schedule.
• AM CTC Students: Please report to Garden Spot High School and follow your PM schedule. Please note that Garden Spot will be operating on an Early Dismissal Schedule.
• PM CTC Students: You may leave Garden Spot High School after 2nd Block at 9:00 a.m. Transportation home will not be provided.


o If you have transportation home, you may leave at 9:00 a.m.
o If you do not have transportation home, you will be assigned a location at Garden Spot High School in place of your regularly scheduled CTC classes.
o If you need to remain at Garden Spot, please complete the form that was mailed home to you and return it to the Guidance Office.


• Full-Day CTC Students: You are not required to attend school on Wednesday, September 30.

Challenge of the Classes

The Challenge of the Classes event will be held at Garden Spot High School on Wednesday, September 30, beginning at 11:15 a.m.

Students who wish to attend the event will need to arrange their own transportation based on their individual schedule and the 11:15 a.m. start time. If you do not have transportation and would like to attend, please notify Mrs. Laudermilch in Guidance as soon as possible so that an alternative location can be assigned to your schedule if you do not have a regular scheduled class. Students may not remain on campus without an assigned location.

 

On the following dates, Garden Spot High School will be closed, but the Lancaster County CTC will remain open for classes:

  • Thursday, October 1
  • Friday, October 2
  • Monday, November 2
  • Tuesday, January 19
  • Monday, March 5

 

CTC buses will not run on these dates.  CTC attendance is optional when Garden Spot High School is closed.  Students who drive themselves to CTC may attend classes if they choose.  Students will not be penalized for not attending CTC on these dates.

 

On Wednesday December 23, CTC will be closed.  Garden Spot is open, running on an early dismissal schedule.

  • Garden Spot High School will be open for classes as usual.
  • AM CTC students should report to Garden Spot High School and follow their PM schedule.  Please note this is an early dismissal day for Garden Spot.
  • PM CTC students may leave Garden Spot High School after 2nd Block at 9:00 a.m. Please note that transportation will not be provided.  Students who do not have transportation home will be assigned a location at Garden Spot High School in place of their regularly scheduled CTC classes. Please complete the attached form if you will need to remain at Garden Spot.
  • Full-Day CTC students are not required to attend school on Wednesday, December 23.

 

The last day of CTC classes is June 1.

School Events & CTC Attendance Expectations

CTC students are expected to attend CTC during the school day, even if events are taking place at Garden Spot that they would like to attend.

Students may remain at Garden Spot only if they are actively participating in an event such as a concert or assembly.

 

If You Are Participating in an Event -

Notify Mrs. Laudermilch in the Guidance Office at least one week in advance.

This allows communication with CTC regarding your absence.

Failure to provide advance notice may result in an unexcused absence at CTC.

Students remaining at Garden Spot will report to an alternate location during their scheduled CTC time.

Full-Day CTC Students
When absent, submit an excuse card to the Main Office at your CTC campus.
 
Half-Day CTC Students
Because you attend classes at both schools, excuse cards must be submitted to:

  • The Garden Spot High School Main Office and
  • Your CTC Main Office
