ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

GARDEN SPOT HIGH SCHOOL WILL HAVE AN EARLY DISMISSAL

ON

May 28, 2026 and May 29, 2026 At 11:15 AM

 

 

Last Day of CTC is Thursday, May 28th

 

 

PM STUDENTS

You will need to report to Garden Spot for your 1st Block Finals

on the morning of May 28th.

You will take your 2nd Block Finals on the morning of May 27th.

Make Up Finals will be on the morning of May 29th.

 

 

FULL DAY STUDENTS

SENIORS WILL BE EXPECTED TO BE AT GARDEN SPOT ON MAY 28TH FOR SENIOR OBLIGATIONS, THE SENIOR LUNCH, AND GRADUATION REHEARSAL

Senior Obligations
Prior to the graduation rehearsal, all students must report to the auxiliary cafeteria to complete their senior obligation sheet and senior survey.

Senior Luncheon
Lunch will be provided at no cost (held in the stadium, weather permitting).

Graduation Rehearsal
Following the luncheon, all seniors will report to the new gym for rehearsal.
Students must bring their cap, gown, and tassel on a hanger. These items will remain at the school until the evening of graduation.

Senior Photo
Please note; A group photo may be taken at rehearsal. 

 

 

Graduation Ceremony (May 29, 2026):
The ceremony will take place at 6:30 PM in the GSHS gymnasium.
Each student will receive six (6) tickets during rehearsal. Overflow seating will be available in the auditorium for additional guests.

 

 

Late CTC Applications for the 2026-27 school year are now open. 

  • If you are interested in applying, please stop by the guidance office.

 

 

Prom Tickets will be on sale from April 20 through May 1. Tickets can be purchased in the Main Office from Ms. Zook. The cost is $60 per person or $110 per couple.  Prom is Saturday, May 16.

  • If you plan to bring a guest from outside the school, you must complete a guest form and submit it along with a copy of your guest’s ID to Ms. Zook in the Main Office. All forms must be approved before you can purchase a ticket for your guest. Guest forms are available in the Main Office and must be turned in by April 29.

 

 

Cap and gown units will be available for CTC student pickup on April 22 in the Main Office after 8:00 a.m.

Communication for CTC Students

Communication is extremely important to us, especially since CTC students are not in the building for part of the day. We understand this can make staying informed more challenging, particularly for students who drive to CTC. To ensure students do not miss important events or announcements, information is shared in several ways.

 

How Students Should Stay Informed -

 

Students should regularly:

  • Check the GSHS bulletin board at CTC

  • Visit the school website frequently

  • Monitor StudentSquare

  • Check their ELANCO school email

 

Apps for Important Information

  • CTC Learners should download the StudentSquare app to receive important announcements.
  • Parents and guardians will receive updates through the ParentSquare app.

Garden Spot Early Dismissal Information

March 19, 2026 – Early Dismissal at 11:15 AM

 

AM CTC Students

  • Will attend classes at CTC as usual.

 

PM CTC Students

  • Will not attend CTC.

  • Are dismissed after 2nd block (9:48 AM), must have their own transportation.

 

Full-Day CTC Students

  • Will attend CTC classes in the morning only.

  • If you drive directly to CTC, you may remain at CTC.

Pick-Up Times on Early Dismissal Days

  • Brownstown – 10:50 AM

  • Mount Joy – 10:15 AM

    • Protective Services Center – 10:05 AM

  • Willow Street – 10:25 AM

 

Additional Early Dismissal Dates -

Early dismissals for this school year are:

  • April 2

  • The last two days of school

 

Secondary (HS/MS only) early dismissals are January 8 and January 9.

Other Important Dates & Announcements

Yearbooks -
Yearbook sales have been extended until Friday, February 20.
This is the final opportunity to purchase a yearbook.
Information was shared through ParentSquare.
Flyers are available in the Main Office.

 

 

Friday, March 20 – Garden Spot High School is closed.  

CTC will be open.  Buses will not run to CTC.  

Students are not required to attend.  

Students who drive may choose to attend.  

Non-attendance will not be counted against students.

School Events & CTC Attendance Expectations

CTC students are expected to attend CTC during the school day, even if events are taking place at Garden Spot that they would like to attend.

Students may remain at Garden Spot only if they are actively participating in an event such as a concert or assembly.

 

If You Are Participating in an Event -

Notify Mrs. Laudermilch in the Guidance Office at least one week in advance.

This allows communication with CTC regarding your absence.

Failure to provide advance notice may result in an unexcused absence at CTC.

Students remaining at Garden Spot will report to an alternate location during their scheduled CTC time.
